Letterpress at Eastern Market, Detroit

We Stopped by Signal return and Cedar and Salt- 2 letterpress shops in the Eastern Market complex of buildings, outdoor vendors, burgers, produce, music, plants and cool vintage finds. 

This was part of a workshop being presented by the amazing, amazing, so talented, Chicago based letterpress company-Starshaped press.

We are working on a beautifully designed  wedding invitation and these colors were chosen. The project prints on a beautiful Crane, 100% cottonpaper-Ecru. Ecru is a French vanilla white (my words) Because inks can change on paper depending on the color printed , (inks are largely transparent) we provided these ink samples to our client to be certain that the PMS colors were perfect.

Philbert ( the inspiration)  the pig sits in the middle of the market and is a great meeting spot near all the fabulous food at Reading. Philbert receives money donations in his mouth ( he is a largre bronze pig) which benefits Philabundance.
